Job Responsibility

  • Monitor progress of construction work on roadway and highway projects
  • Inspect, verify, and document project is constructed in conformance with contract plans and specifications
  • Keep complete and accurate records and reports
  • Identify changes to the contract and assist in preparation of change orders
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans
  • Interact and communicate with team members, contractors and general public
  • Effectively multitask and prioritize construction issues through to completion

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • 1+ years of experience in roadway construction
  • Working knowledge of computer programs and tools related to construction
  • Familiarity with Minnesota and/or Wisconsin Department of Transportation policies and procedures for construction
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) CADD (MicroStation preferred)
  • Valid driver's license is required
