Job Description:

Construction Estimator role in a growing, family-run business in Northamptonshire. Responsible for interpreting architectural plans and producing accurate estimates to secure new projects across private and public sectors. Working on residential and commercial developments within the construction sector.

Job Responsibility:

Preparing accurate cost estimates, tenders and budgets for a wide range of projects
Managing estimates for projects varying from £350,000 to £1 million plus
Advising on elements of the design ensuring they are financially viable
Producing BOM, obtaining quotes and negotiating prices for materials and services
Visiting prospective and client sites to assess project scope and gather information
Interpreting architectural plans and producing accurate, actionable estimates
Working collaboratively with colleagues, surveyors, sub-contractors, project managers, and suppliers
Supporting the company in securing new contracts and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Construction / Project Estimator or Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
Relevant Estimator qualifications e.g. Degree or similar in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
Experience bidding for and submitting tenders to both the private and public sector (£200k -£500k minimum)
Experience in managing projects, working closely with Architects, Project Managers, Surveyors, engineers and clients
Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel
Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
Confident in calculating project costs before work begins and in identifying opportunities to secure new business
