The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Colorado State University (CSU) seeks a full-time non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor to teach courses across the newly developed Construction Engineering Bachelor of Science (BS) program and the existing Civil Engineering BS program. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate instruction in one or both programs, depending on their area of expertise and departmental needs.
Job Responsibility:
Teach relevant undergraduate and graduate courses that prepare students to pursue a career in the construction and engineering industry
Integrate relevant research expertise into current and new academic courses
Participate in graduate and understand student advisement
Participate in service and development activities in support of the program, Department, College, and University
Work with student organizations.
Requirements:
Master of Science degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field (for Instructor)
PhD in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field (for Assistant Teaching Professor)
A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in the engineering or construction industry, or a PhD in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
Ability to successfully teach university-level courses
The ability to teach at least two of the following courses: CONE 201 Construction Systems and Decision Analysis, CONE 301 Engineering Contracts, CONE 401 Construction Safety Engineering, CONE 402 Senior Project Design I, CONE 403 Senior Project Design II

Nice to have:
More than five (5) years of engineering or construction-related experience in industry within the last eight (8) years
Higher education teaching experience as an instructor or teaching assistant professor
Engineering or Construction industry certifications
Demonstrated performance in teaching or training that positively impacts student learning
Knowledge and/or teaching abilities in one or more of the following areas: Engineering Mechanics – Statics, Engineering Mechanics – Dynamics, Mechanics of Solids, Structural Analysis, Civil Engineering Materials, Infrastructure and Transportation Systems
