Are you a technical expert passionate about the art of building? Do you aspire to a strategic role within an organization that acts as builder, manager, and owner? We are partnering with a major player in the construction industry, established for over 20 years and recognized for delivering large-scale private residential projects and, more recently, institutional public projects. With a project volume approaching $300 to $500 million, this company is seeking strong leadership to structure its growth. As Director of Construction, you will play a pivotal role within the executive team. The company is going through an exciting transformation phase and seeks to integrate external best practices and innovation into its methods. The role is based in Montreal (West Island) or Gatineau, depending on your mobility, and targets a highly technical profile (Engineer or Architect) capable of mentoring a team and navigating complex projects. You will evolve in an environment, specifically in Engineering & Design, where technical rigour is valued as much as strategic vision.

Act as the ultimate technical reference for the team (methodology, product specifications, building envelope, structure) to resolve complex challenges on construction sites
Mentor, train, and develop a team of project managers and superintendents, fostering knowledge sharing and technical skill enhancement
Actively participate in internal process improvement by integrating technological tools (such as ACC) and innovative management methods drawn from your external experience
Collaborate closely with estimation and accounting departments to ensure project profitability, whether private (high-rise residential) or public (institutional tenders)
Maintain strong business relationships with partners, subcontractors, and clients while skillfully navigating an evolving environment
Requirements:

Member in good standing of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) or the OAQ (Ordre des architectes du Québec) – Strict requirement
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar construction management or direction role in Quebec
