Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Defect Paralegal to support attorneys in defending or prosecuting construction defect claims involving residential, commercial, and multi‑family projects. The ideal candidate has strong litigation experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to handle complex document-heavy cases from pre-litigation through trial.
Job Responsibility:
Assist attorneys with all phases of construction defect cases, including investigation, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation
Review, organize, and summarize construction documents, contracts, inspection reports, maintenance records, and expert findings
Manage large volumes of discovery, including e‑discovery platforms, document production, Bates stamping, and privilege logs
Draft legal documents such as disclosures, discovery requests/responses, correspondence, chronologies, damages summaries, and case timelines
Coordinate inspections, site visits, depositions, and meetings with experts, contractors, adjusters, and third parties
Maintain case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with state and federal procedural requirements
Assist with preparing binders, exhibits, and trial notebooks
Requirements:
3–5+ years of litigation experience
construction defect experience strongly preferred
Paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience
Strong understanding of Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure (or state-specific rules)
Proficiency with e-discovery platforms and case management software
Excellent writing, research, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have:
Experience working with construction experts, engineers, or insurance carriers is a plus
