Job Description:

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Lancaster Farm & HMP Kirkham, working as a Construction Cover Teacher on an ad-hoc basis. You will deliver construction teaching and practical workshop sessions on an ad hoc basis within the education department, supporting learners to develop industry-relevant skills and behaviours. Sessions are structured and aligned to curriculum and awarding body requirements, with a focus on accredited outcomes, employability, and resettlement.

Requirements:

  • hold a teaching qualification and, where applicable, a relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
  • hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • have previous track record of achieving of quality and performance targets
  • have experience producing accurate and timely reports
  • positive team working
  • effective communication & inter-personal skills

Nice to have:

experience working in a Cover capacity/in a prison environment
