Job Description

Robert Half is partnering with a growing construction client in the Sorrento Valley area seeking a Construction Bookkeeper for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with experience supporting day-to-day bookkeeping functions within a construction or project-based environment. The ideal candidate will have experience handling AP/AR, reconciliations, and job cost-related accounting while supporting a fast-paced office and project team.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Process invoices, vendor payments, and customer billing
  • Maintain accurate job cost tracking and assist with project-related accounting
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Assist with payroll processing and subcontractor documentation as needed
  • Support month-end close activities and prepare financial reports
  • Maintain organized accounting records and vendor files
  • Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams regarding accounting matters

Requirements

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within the construction industry
  • Experience with job costing and project-based accounting preferred
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
