Campbell Property Group (CPG), one of Australia’s leading residential construction and property development companies, is looking for an experienced Construction Area Manager for our South West Sydney area. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the construction of contract homes, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves coordinating resources, supervising construction teams, and ensuring compliance with Australian building standards, council regulations, and company policies. You will also be managing costs, minimising margin erosion, and enhancing customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and delivering a seamless construction experience.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and manage the construction of contract homes, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards
Coordinate resources, supervise construction teams, and ensure compliance with Australian building standards, council regulations, and company policies
Manage costs, minimise margin erosion, and enhance customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and delivering a seamless construction experience
Oversee and ensure the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality completion of homes, aligning with company and display home standards
Monitor construction progress, identify risks, and proactively implement corrective actions to meet agreed timelines and targets
Ensure compliance with Australian building legislation, council regulations, and product specifications
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., design, estimating, customer service) to streamline construction workflows and resolve bottlenecks
Ensure performance accountability through regular one-on-one meetings, structured coaching plans, and performance reviews
Foster a culture of teamwork, ownership, and problem-solving
Engage with clients at key stages of the construction process, proactively managing concerns and ensuring high levels of satisfaction
Investigate and resolve escalated customer complaints efficiently and professionally
Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and councils
Review, negotiate and approve trade rates, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality
Identify and address budget overruns early, implementing proactive strategies to keep projects on track
Foster a strong safety culture
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction supervision focused on residential processes, regulations, and compliance
Proven experience managing and developing construction teams for high engagement, ownership, and performance
Experience ensuring compliance with building legislation and council regulations, with strong WHS safety management
Strong construction supervision experience
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, fostering high engagement and performance
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, particularly in a construction environment
Proven conflict resolution and customer management skills
Comprehensive understanding of residential construction processes, regulations, and compliance
Strong knowledge of WHS and safety management principles
Understanding of financial and budgetary controls in construction
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Resilient and adaptable, able to navigate challenges and drive continuous improvement
Detail-oriented and proactive, with strong problem-solving capabilities
