Robert Half has partnered with a distinguished trial firm based in Denver, Colorado. Due to an increase in business, we are looking for a skilled Construction and Design Attorney. In this role, you will have the chance to contribute to complex cases involving construction and design disputes. You will work collaboratively with a team of experienced individuals and handle diverse responsibilities, including client interactions, depositions, and court appearances. This position offers a hybrid work schedule after training, allowing for flexibility and ongoing growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handle litigation cases related to construction and design disputes, representing developers, contractors, and design specialists
  • Manage all aspects of case preparation, including research, drafting motions, and discovery processes
  • Take and defend depositions for both fact and expert witnesses, ensuring thorough case development
  • Engage with insurance claims representatives to report, assess, and strategize case outcomes
  • Prepare expert disclosures, reports, and coordinate expert engagements
  • Draft and negotiate construction contracts while addressing schedule and payment claims
  • Participate in pre-trial motions and discovery, focusing on large exposure cases and complex litigation
  • Lead mediations and manage trial or arbitration proceedings with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to paralegals, ensuring efficient workflow
  • Contribute to business development by drafting legal publications and engaging in marketing initiatives

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Colorado
  • Proven ability to manage cases with a strong work ethic
  • Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and legal teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Experience with multi-party litigation and large document production
  • Familiarity with construction law, including defect and contract matters
  • Willingness to travel as needed for case requirements
