Job Description:

A Connecticut contractor is looking for an Accounting Coordinator to join their team in Wolcott. This is a unique opportunity to work with a $100M+ construction company that has doubled in size over the last five years — while still maintaining the culture of a family-owned business. The long-term plan is to develop this hire into an Assistant Controller and eventual Controller.

Job Responsibility:

  • Job costing and project cost tracking
  • Project A/P and A/R
  • Monthly AIA billing and schedule of values
  • Percentage-of-completion accounting
  • Managing lien waivers and subcontractor documentation
  • Entering change orders and project contract updates
  • Reviewing job cost reports and cost-to-complete estimates
  • Coordinating with project managers on billing and draw requests
  • Supporting union and certified payroll processes (backup)
  • Setting up new projects in Sage 300 / Timberline

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on construction accounting expertise (~10 years)
  • Experience with job costing and project cost tracking
  • Experience with project A/P and A/R
  • Experience with monthly AIA billing and schedule of values
  • Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting
  • Experience managing lien waivers and subcontractor documentation
  • Experience entering change orders and project contract updates
  • Experience reviewing job cost reports and cost-to-complete estimates
  • Experience coordinating with project managers on billing and draw requests
  • Experience supporting union and certified payroll processes (backup)
  • Experience setting up new projects in Sage 300 / Timberline
