Construction Accountant

• Manage accounting activities related to construction projects, including job costing, budget tracking, and financial analysis
• Review and track change orders to ensure accurate financial reporting and project cost management
• Prepare and post adjusting journal entries as needed
• Work closely with project managers and subcontractors to support project accounting, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate cost tracking
• Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close and help ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Analyze project costs, identify variances, and support budget-to-actual reporting
• Help maintain organized accounting records and improve accounting processes where appropriate
• Utilize accounting and project-based ERP systems
• Viewpoint experience is a plus

• 4+ years of accounting experience required
• Construction industry experience required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance required
• Strong experience with job costing, change orders, budgets, adjusting entries, general ledger, and reconciliations
• Experience partnering with project managers and subcontractors strongly preferred
• Viewpoint or Peoplesoft experience is a plus
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work fully onsite in a collaborative environment
