Job Responsibility:
Responsible for all kitchen, food, and serving supplies including ordering, receiving, and storage
Maintains kitchen in clean and sanitary condition
Takes food temperatures as required and maintains temperature control chart
Maintains high standards of personal hygiene and food handling techniques
Attends and participates in all mandatory training sessions and meetings as prescribed by the Site Manager or administrative personnel
Checks food upon its arrival for accurate delivery and completes meal preparation as menu prescribes
Ensures that everything in kitchen is cleaned up and that all food and serving supplies are locked up at the end of each program day
Practices safe operating procedures and observes all safety regulations and precautions
Supervises food service volunteers and support staff
Performs other duties and assignments related to this job as deemed necessary by the Site Manager
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience with food service and kitchen operations
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Must pass post-offer physical examination
Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Availability to work 25 hours per week
Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
Previous experience in ordering, storage, preparation and serving of food
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Works well under pressure
Excellent personal hygiene and food safety knowledge
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Comfortable supervising volunteers and support staff
