Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for all kitchen, food, and serving supplies including ordering, receiving, and storage
  • Maintains kitchen in clean and sanitary condition
  • Takes food temperatures as required and maintains temperature control chart
  • Maintains high standards of personal hygiene and food handling techniques
  • Attends and participates in all mandatory training sessions and meetings as prescribed by the Site Manager or administrative personnel
  • Checks food upon its arrival for accurate delivery and completes meal preparation as menu prescribes
  • Ensures that everything in kitchen is cleaned up and that all food and serving supplies are locked up at the end of each program day
  • Practices safe operating procedures and observes all safety regulations and precautions
  • Supervises food service volunteers and support staff
  • Performs other duties and assignments related to this job as deemed necessary by the Site Manager

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience with food service and kitchen operations
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Must pass post-offer physical examination
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Availability to work 25 hours per week
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
  • Previous experience in ordering, storage, preparation and serving of food
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Works well under pressure
  • Excellent personal hygiene and food safety knowledge
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable supervising volunteers and support staff
