Job Description

Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking dependable and hardworking Concrete Laborers to support an active site development project at a school facility. This position will assist concrete finishers and carpenters with all phases of concrete placement, site preparation, and cleanup related to sidewalks, curbs, walkways, and other exterior concrete structures. Candidates should have prior construction experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor environment. Job Responsibility

Assist with the preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, walkways, and other site concrete applications
Perform site preparation activities including grading, excavation support, material staging, and work area setup
Assist with the installation, stripping, and cleanup of concrete forms
Spread, rake, shovel, and consolidate concrete during placement operations
Assist finishers by moving materials, tools, and equipment throughout the work area
Load, unload, and transport construction materials manually or with equipment as directed
Clean and maintain tools, equipment, forms, and work areas before, during, and after concrete pours
Assist with saw cutting, joint preparation, curing, and protection of finished concrete
Follow grade stakes, string lines, and supervisor direction to support accurate concrete placement
Perform demolition, excavation, and general labor tasks as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite at all times
Work closely with crew members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards

Requirements

Minimum 1-2 years of construction, concrete, civil, or site work experience preferred
Experience working around concrete placement and finishing operations is highly desirable
Ability to safely operate basic construction hand tools and power tools
Familiarity with construction site safety practices and procedures
Ability to read a tape measure and follow directions from supervisors and foremen
Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to perform a variety of labor-intensive tasks
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
Must pass a background check due to work being performed on school property
Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite
Must possess basic construction hand tools
Must wear required PPE
