Job Description

Leads crews in the completion of various concrete projects varying in scope and size. Expected Outcomes: All tasks assigned are performed in accordance with contract, quality and safety standards; All tasks are performed as efficiently as possible and within the allocated budget; Mentor direct reports to advance within the company.

Job Responsibility

  • Direct crews’ daily work activities
  • Ensure crew has the necessary tools and materials needed to perform assigned work
  • Track labor hours worked and ensure crew members are paid appropriately and hours are accurately phase coded using HCSS
  • Completes takeoffs for concrete quantities
  • Schedules and orders all concrete from ready-mix companies
  • Report quantities
  • Interact with the superintendent and/or general foreman frequently to receive instructions and supply requested information (crew member times, task completion status, tool or material needs, etc.)
  • Comply with Company health, safety and general policies and protocols and ensure crew members and subcontractors do the same
  • Assist in ensuring Company equipment is properly maintained through daily maintenance
  • Complete daily paperwork such as field reports and schedule updates in a timely and efficient manner
  • Conduct and/or attend project and staff meetings, including toolbox safety talks and training, as required
  • Keep superintendent and/or general foreman informed of all issues related to safety, employee relations, etc. and take corrective action as needed
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of the materials, methods, practices, regulations, machinery, tools and equipment used in area of work
  • Knowledge of different concrete work (pavement, floors, slipform, and different finishing applications)
  • Knowledge of applicable safety practices and procedures
  • Ability to effectively supervise other employees
  • Ability to read plan drawings and understand specifications
  • Ability and willingness to learn how to operate various types of technology including
  • but not limited to: HCSS/Heavy Job, iPhone, iPad
  • Demonstrate adequate administrative skills including, but not limited to: accurate data entry, documentation and writing, paperwork management
