The Boeing Company is looking for a Computing Architect (Mid-Level or Senior) to join the team in Berkeley, MO; Seal Beach, CA; or Seattle, WA. This role provides senior technical leadership across a portfolio of critical Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Program Management systems, strengthening engineering quality, reducing technical debt, and keeping production platforms stable and supportable. The successful candidate will become part of the Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) Information Technology (IT) team, responsible for crafting architectural diagrams, engaging with multiple stakeholders, building roadmaps, conducting analytical research, and leading system design efforts.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop architecture and design of web based integrated systems
  • Provide design and architectural support for on-going tools in development and production
  • Debug and problem solve current enhancements and production systems
  • Conduct Proof of Concepts for feasibility and performance as needed
  • Define transitional architecture and product roadmaps aligned with the business priorities
  • Provide technical and functional leadership in conduct of trade studies and selection of the best tool using best practices of exploration, research, requirements study and architecture
  • Identify multiple possible Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) tools and solutions backed by data and research
  • Support the planning and conduction of workshops, user out reaches, deep dives for COTS Tool and solution elaboration to arrive at a best fit tool
  • Define solution architecture and elaborate the solution for critical use cases
  • Propose and lead Artificial Intelligence (AI) integrations and capabilities
  • Interest and familiarity with knowledge graphs, ontologies etc.
  • Problem solve and build consensus across cross functional teams with multiple perspectives and goals

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Architect or similar role, with a track record of successfully delivering complex technical solutions
  • 3+ years of experience in application integration, APIs and Microservices
  • 3+ years of experience with JavaScript (e.g., Angular, JQuery)
  • 3+ years of experience with GitLab, Azure DevOps and CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD))
  • 3+ years of experience with containerization and Kubernetes (e.g. Elastic Kubernetes Service, Azure Kubernetes Service)
  • 3+ years of experience in AWS Services E.g. VPC, IAM, EC2, Auto-scaling, ELB, ECR, S3, DynamoDB, Postgres (RDS), Lambda, SQS, SNS, RDS, VPC, Route 53, Cloud Front, Cloud Watch, AWS Config, CloudTrail, AWS Developer Tools etc.
  • 3+ years of experience with advanced data modeling techniques and both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, MongoDB)
  • 3+ years of experience with RESTFul APIs
  • Experience with database technologies, such as SQL Server, Teradata, Postgres, MySQL, and/or NoSQL technologies (ElasticSearch, MarkLogic, Mongo)
  • Experience with the software development applications: Requirement (Jama), Backlog management and collaboration (Confluence, JIRA, Crowd), CI/CD (Artifactory/X-Ray, GITLab, Jenkins), Test (MicroFocus ALM and LRE, JMeter), and Code Quality/Security (SonarQube, Coverity)
  • Great understanding of Agile principles and hands-on experience of at least one Agile software development methodology like Scaled Agile Framework

Nice to have:

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with model-based document management, component content management systems
  • Experience communicating clearly, both verbally and in writing, across multiple departments
  • Experience with content management systems, web-based document management and workflow systems
