Job Description:

This is a rare opportunity to be at the forefront of computational materials science-pushing boundaries, solving complex industrial challenges, and shaping the future of advanced ceramics. As a Computational Modeller, you will contribute to cutting‑edge research across multiple workstreams, including modelling sintering processes, kiln environments, stress development, crack formation and propagation, and the creation of digital twins for real‑world manufacturing. You’ll join a dynamic, forward‑thinking team committed to driving transformational change in materials and process innovation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and enhance Lucideon’s material and process modelling capabilities using COMSOL and other finite element tools
  • Create bespoke models and contribute to the development of innovative modelling platforms
  • Work closely with industrial and academic partners to build models that support manufacturing process optimisation
  • Interpret modelling outputs to help solve complex engineering and materials challenges across the sector
  • Act as a champion for computational modelling-helping clients and partners understand its technical and financial benefits
  • Support the development of digital twins focused on sintering and ceramic production processes

Requirements:

  • MSc or PhD in a science or engineering discipline
  • Experience in computational modelling or materials processing
  • Strong technical capability in finite element analysis—preferably with COMSOL
  • Experience in areas such as thermal, mechanical, electrical (AC/DC), or multiphysics simulation
  • Solid understanding of materials science
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both specialists and non‑specialists
  • Passion for collaboration with industry and academia
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with clients and partners
