The Mechanic is responsible for carrying out advanced mechanical inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment.
Job Responsibility
Conduct inspections of pumps, compressors, and engines to identify faults and perform preventative repairs
Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on natural gas compressors and engines, ensuring all work is properly documented
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across a range of equipment, including pumps, gas compressors, engines, hoses, seals, and auxiliary systems
Perform heavy mechanical maintenance, including removal and replacement of motors, engines, reciprocating compressors, screw compressors, and related equipment
Maintain accurate inventory records for spare parts, consumables, and critical maintenance components
Support non-routine repairs and maintenance of additional mechanical equipment as required
Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures at all times
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in oil & gas operations, with a focus on mechanical maintenance and repair
Proven experience working as a field mechanic in operational environments
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure
Effective communication skills in English, with the ability to build and maintain working relationships
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
Physically capable of climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), carrying (up to 30 lbs), and performing manual tasks such as bending, crouching, crawling, and squatting
Willingness to be on-call 24/7 as operational needs require
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
