Job Description

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Supervisor, this role supports both sterile and non-sterile production operations to ensure full compliance with state and federal compounding regulations. The Compounding Pharmacist oversees preparation accuracy, regulatory adherence, and quality standards while also providing patient care, clinical oversight, and medication counseling.

Job Responsibility

  • Verify and compound sterile and non-sterile preparations in compliance with master formulation records and regulatory standards
  • Ensure adherence to USP <795>, <797>, and <800> requirements, including aseptic technique, garbing, and cleaning procedures
  • Perform pharmaceutical calculations and maintain accurate, compliant documentation
  • Conduct quality control testing and inspections to ensure accuracy, purity, and potency of compounded medications
  • Collaborate with prescribers and internal pharmacy staff to support customized medication therapies
  • Provide patient counseling on compounded, prescription, over-the-counter medications, and supplements
  • Support pharmacy operations as needed, including prescription processing, workflow support, and shipping activities
