Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Composite Technician I to join our team in Mobile, AL. The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft.
Job Responsibility:
Ability to objectively self inspect work, finished parts and components as required
Maintaining written records and work logs in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Transport Canada (TCAA) requirements
Ability to learn to read and interpret all common and accepted Blueprint/drawings types
Performs composite repairs (as directed) related to molds, wet and prepreg layup, re-work/repair of existing structures
Self-Inspects Parts and Components where applicable
Ability to use all related measuring devices/tools to ensure adherence to requested part/component documentation
Adherence to various policies regarding accurate recording of completed work and work-in-progress
Housekeeping, Assistance with lifting/pushing/pulling, etc
Maintain acceptable/normal levels of On-hand stock quantities
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Some form of Technical/Professional/Vocational Training in the Composites field (apprenticeship, institutional training, etc.)
Three (3)+ years of hands-on experience with Aerospace or Equivalent Composites(Shipyard, Supplier, Etc.)
One (1)+ years of experience in Aerospace (preferred but not required)
Proficient in English Language (Ability to read, write and effectively communicate)
Ability to lift up to 50lbs (23kg) occasionally
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (English)
Ability to visually inspect parts/components (read small numbers in either Vernier scale or other)
Ability to climb stairs or ladders as required
Ability to walk on uneven floor/terrain for extended periods of time
Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time
Ability to work for boom/scissor lifts for extended periods of time
Ability to work in confined spaces safely and frequently
Nice to have:
A second language is preferred but not required (French, Spanish, German)
One (1)+ years of experience in Aerospace (preferred but not required)
