Job Description:

The role of a Composite Fitter involves the skilled assembly and fitting of composite components, ensuring strict compliance with rigorous processes relating to bonded joints and inserts. A Composite Fitter is a vital contributor to the composite ecosystem, responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of various composite parts used in aeroplanes and helicopters. This position is detail-oriented, requiring precision, problem-solving skills- particularly on new projects - and a sound understanding of assembly techniques.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assembly and production of components, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and adherence to deadlines
  • Assembling metal structures
  • Working with composite materials
  • Performing specialist bonding processes
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosis of mechanical and assembly issues
  • Using data and manufacturing processes to meet drawing or client specifications
  • Using various gauges and instruments to ensure accurate assembly of parts and fittings
  • Thoroughly documenting all work to cover all aspects of process control
  • Accurately completing all documentation and registers
  • Correct use, control, and maintenance of a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and specialised fitting and testing equipment
