Job Description

The Component Test Engineering team is looking for a technician with experience in electrical, mechanical/structural, and thermal testing. This role will provide hands-on support to various in-house and external tests. This is a 1 year contract position with possibility of conversion to a full-time role.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist the engineering staff with test setups, execution, and teardown
  • Occasionally travel to external test facilities to set up and/or execute tests
  • Fabricate test fixtures, make wiring harnesses and support other lab activities
  • Operate a forklift (training will be provided, if needed)
  • Maintaining lab inventory for consumables
  • Maintaining a clean lab environment

Requirements

  • High-voltage electrical testing experience
  • Operating bi-directional power supplies and electrical loads
  • Building special wiring harnesses from scratch
  • including soldering, crimping, etc.
  • Building test-stands and test-fixtures

Nice to have

  • Experience with environmental, thermal and structural testing
  • Operating and troubleshooting environmental chambers
  • Machine shop experience - welding, machining, etc.
  • Automotive experience
