Job Description

We are seeking Component engineer with strong foundations in web development, AI/ML, and embedded systems, complemented by hands-on semiconductor testing, 3D CAD/printing, and PCB design experience. This role is ideal for builders who can move seamlessly from software to hardware, rapidly prototype, and ship production-grade solutions.The Component Quality Engineer will work under the Research, Development and Engineering Department (RD&E)

Job Responsibility

  • Design and implement web applications and services using HTML, Python, and/or Java
  • build and integrate REST APIs
  • manage databases and data flows
  • develop using VS Code
  • Build applications and tools in C# (Visual Studio) and Python (VS Code)
  • contribute to architecture, code quality, testing, and deployment pipelines
  • Develop and integrate models using Python, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
  • support data annotation, cleaning, and labeling to improve model performance
  • Develop firmware and system-level integrations using STM32 and FPGA platforms
  • collaborate on PCB design and hardware bring-up
  • Apply practical experience across semiconductor manufacturing from FOL → EOL
  • execute IC and module testing, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Create mechanical prototypes via 3D CAD
  • operate 3D printers (FDM and SLA) for rapid iteration

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Web development: HTML, REST APIs, databases, Python and/or Java
  • Hands-on development using VS Code
  • experience in Visual Studio (C#)
  • Practical AI/ML experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Experience with data annotation, cleaning, and labeling for ML workflows
  • Embedded systems knowledge with STM32 and/or FPGA
  • PCB design exposure
  • Semiconductor domain experience across FOL → EOL and IC/module testing
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Fluent English communication (written and verbal)
  • Knows some basic Failure analysis methodology such as Decapsulation, Solderability and basic functional/electrical testing
  • Knows how to operate X-ray machines, Decapsulation machine, Baking Oven and other basic electronics testing tools/equipment
  • Experience with inspection and classification of various semiconductor and electronic parts
  • Working knowledge of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) in handling components in an Electrostatic Protective Area (EPA) required

Nice to have

  • Experience designing test fixtures or validation frameworks for IC/modules
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, containerization, or cloud services for deploying web/ML apps
  • Familiarity with electronics lab tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, DAQ)
  • Experience with design-for-manufacturability (DFM) or reliability testing
  • Contributions to open-source projects or published prototypes/demos
  • Knowledge in RoHS requirement is preferred

  • Own end-to-end quality for high-speed interconnect hardware across the product lifecycle: early design influence, supplier/contract manufacturer readiness, qualification, ramp, and fleet quality in lab and data center environments
  • Be the quality lead for advanced interconnect components and assemblies, including high-speed copper cables, cable cartridges, patch panels, backplane/cable-backplane solutions, high-speed connectors, and related electro-mechanical interfaces
  • Partner closely with electrical, mechanical, SI/PI, systems, reliability, operations, and external vendors to prevent escapes and drive rapid, data-driven containment and corrective action
  • Drive quality-by-design: participate in design reviews, DFM/DFx, tolerance stacks, material and plating selections, connector mating strategy, strain relief, and assembly methods to reduce variation and field failures
  • Define and track quality and reliability metrics (DPPM, yield, escapes, RMA/FRACAS trends, Cpk/Ppk where applicable) for interconnects across NPI and mass production
  • Build and execute qualification strategies for cables/connectors/patch panels (mechanical, environmental, electrical, and reliability), including test coverage, sample plans, clear pass/fail criteria, defining installation criteria and processes, optics termination quality management and setting fiber standards criteria
  • Partner with engineering and operations to drive smooth ramp: risk assessments, pilot build learnings, change control, and readiness reviews (EVT/DVT/PVT/MP or equivalent phases)
  • Own supplier and CM performance management: scorecards, audits (process and quality system), and follow-up to close findings with verified effectiveness
  • Work with suppliers to improve manufacturing throughput, stability, and yields for cable and connector assembly processes
