Our client, a rapidly growing organization with operations across multiple states, is seeking a detail-focused HR Compliance Specialist to support their Human Resources and operations teams. This position plays a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting internal audits, and ensuring workplace policies and practices align with federal, state, and local employment regulations. The selected candidate will assist in monitoring compliance programs, managing reporting requirements, reviewing documentation, and partnering with internal departments to ensure HR processes remain compliant as the company continues expanding nationally. This role is ideal for someone who combines administrative precision, regulatory knowledge, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Job Responsibility:
Review and reconcile workers’ compensation invoices and claim-related billing to confirm accuracy and appropriate claim handling
Conduct internal compliance reviews and operational audits, including evaluations of vendors and cross-department processes
Identify areas of potential risk and help support corrective actions to maintain compliance standards
Manage required state and federal compliance reporting, including documentation and submissions related to OSHA, FMLA, and EEOC requirements
Track reporting deadlines and maintain organized records to support regulatory obligations
Support compliance documentation related to workplace safety programs and other required filings
Assist with the development, revision, and documentation of company policies and procedures to ensure alignment with current employment laws
Support internal communication and enforcement of company policies across departments
Provide administrative and compliance support for multi-state operations and complex organizational structures
Maintain awareness of compliance requirements associated with multi-entity business structures, including LLC frameworks
Work alongside Legal, Payroll, and HR Business Partners to help ensure compliance in areas such as: Employee classification
Wage and hour regulations
PTO accrual practices
FLSA requirements
Provide support related to sales compensation plans and classification considerations
Requirements:
Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in HR compliance, regulatory support, or a related role
Knowledge of multi-state employment regulations
Familiarity with workplace laws including OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and EEOC
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
Organizational and planning skills
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments
Nice to have:
Experience working with HRIS platforms (Workday or similar systems) is a plus
HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are advantageous
