Job Description

Hands-on Compliance Officer to drive NHVAS, HVNL, CoR, fatigue & WHS compliance in a busy transport operation. This hands-on role works closely with drivers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure the business continues to meet its obligations under NHVAS, HVNL, CoR, fatigue management, and WHS. You’ll be out in the operation identifying risks, coaching teams, and driving safety improvements every day.

Job Responsibility

  • Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with NHVAS, HVNL, CoR, fatigue, and WHS requirements
  • Engage directly with drivers, contractors, and customers to promote a strong safety culture
  • Investigate and close out incidents, breaches, and near misses
  • Manage subcontractor onboarding and pre-qualification
  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and on-site coaching
  • Identify operational risks and implement practical solutions
  • Support continuous improvement across compliance and safety systems

Requirements

  • Experience in compliance, safety, or transport operations within the logistics industry
  • Working knowledge of HVNL, CoR, fatigue management, maintenance, and WHS standards
  • Confident communicator who can engage and influence at all levels
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with sound judgment and initiative
  • Resilient and approachable, with strong people skills
  • Certificate-level qualification in a relevant field (preferred)
  • A current driver’s licence
