Compliance Officer

• Support businesses to achieve high standards of regulatory compliance
• Provide specialist technical advice and guidance to senior colleagues and/or provide frontline services to customers
• Assist with wide range of regulatory service duties both operational delivery and administrative functions
• Work as part of team responsible for delivering against specific targets and mandated legislative requirements
• Make informed decisions to determine necessary course of action required
• Keep up to date with relevant laws and regulations
• Collaborate with other departments, customers and businesses
• Educate employees and business on regulations/requirements and impact of non-compliance
• Perform general administrative duties
• Provide technical support required by teams including projects, investigations and enforcement exercises
• Take notes of meetings
• Devise inspections plans

• Working knowledge of and experience in either delivering licensing function and/or work in a similar regulatory environment
• Well developed interpersonal and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Confidence and ability to work on own initiative reaching appropriate conclusions first time
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail whilst meeting deadlines
• Experience of investigating and gathering evidence
• Ability to deal with confrontational situations
• Experience of report writing
• Full, valid driving licence preferred or ability to travel during the course of work when necessary
