Job Description

At MSV Housing we’re committed to making sure our customers have good‑quality, safe homes, and our Compliance Lead – Asbestos, Legionella & Lifts plays a vital role in making this happen. We’re looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our established team. This role would be ideal for someone currently working as a Compliance Co‑ordinator (or in a similar compliance role) who is ready to take the next step in their career. We’re looking for someone organised, with great attention to detail, and a willingness to work towards the relevant industry qualifications. Reporting to our Head of Compliance & Building Safety, you will provide leadership and technical oversight across asbestos, legionella and LOLER compliance. You will help to develop the team, maintain strong compliance processes, ensure accurate data and reporting, oversee contractor performance, and support a safety‑first culture that reflects evolving regulatory standards across the organisation. In addition, we are looking for candidates who are passionate about advocating on behalf of people and communities and who take pride in delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused services.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead on asbestos, legionella and lifting‑equipment compliance, acting as MSV’s competent person and ensuring alignment with CAR 2012, ACOP L8/HSG274, LOLER/PUWER and the Building Safety Act’s golden‑thread and safety‑case requirements
  • Develop and maintain strategies, policies, registers and management plans, keeping technical and regulatory knowledge up to date and embedding changes into contracts and specifications
  • Commission and quality‑assure risk assessments, surveys, statutory inspections and remedial works, ensuring strong contractor performance, resident safety and value for money
  • Provide specialist technical advice, lead incident investigations and statutory notifications, maintain accurate compliance data, and deliver clear communication to colleagues, residents and stakeholders
  • Lead and develop the compliance team, ensuring consistent service delivery, competency and training — while supporting effective budget management and a strong safety‑first culture across MSV

Requirements

  • Experience working within compliance management in a social housing context, specifically relating to asbestos, legionella and/or LOLER
  • Demonstrable experience in the management and delivery of compliance data, processes, and reporting
  • Strong experience in compiling, maintaining and controlling compliance registers and activity logs (asbestos, legionella, LOLER)
  • Highly organised, detail‑focused, and confident managing multiple streams of compliance activity
  • A customer‑focused approach to service delivery and stakeholder engagement

Nice to have

  • P901 Management and Control of Building Hot and Cold-Water Services
  • P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings
  • LOLER awareness or management qualification
  • Willingness to work towards relevant professional qualifications (supported by MSV)

What we offer

  • Essential car user allowance to support you with car running costs
  • Flexibility on where you work with home working kit provided
  • 33 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, and a holiday buy scheme
  • Company pension scheme with up to 10% matched contributions
  • Company funded access to a health cash plan, where you can claim back costs of everyday health treatments such as optical, dental and much more
  • Enhanced sick pay with up to 3 months full pay and 3 months half pay
  • Health and Wellbeing Support including an employee assistance programme, free counselling, mental health first aiders and numerous wellbeing initiatives
  • Life assurance subject to being a member of our company pension scheme
  • Learning and development to support you to develop the skills you need to fulfil your role and progress in your career
  • Commitment to Equality and Inclusion with employee network groups covering anti-racism, LGBTQ+, disability and long-term health conditions, carers, and menopause
