We’re looking for an experienced Compliance Development Manager (CDM) with a strong mortgage and protection background to join our team at Stonebridge — one of the UK’s leading mortgage and protection networks. This is a regional, field-based role, best suited to candidates located in or around the Bristol, Bath or Gloucester areas, for visiting firms along the M4/M5 corridor and the wider southwest/Wales region, to deliver hands-on compliance support, guidance, and development. You’ll work directly with professional mortgage and protection advisers, helping them maintain excellence in regulatory compliance, advice quality, and client outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct compliance support visits for AR firms and advisers (currently eight face to face visits per month subject to the needs of the business)
Deliver engaging induction modules for new AR firms and advisers
Maintain up-to-date compliance records and weekly MI reports
Stay informed on regulatory changes and ensure firms remain compliant
Provide practical support and constructive feedback to help advisers improve
Build trusted relationships and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Collaborate with internal teams and occasionally support wider business initiatives
Requirements:
Previous mortgage and protection experience (as an Adviser, Supervisor or Compliance Manager or in a similar role)
Strong understanding of mortgage, protection, and regulatory compliance
Excellent communication and presentation skills
A coaching and development mindset
Analytical thinking and attention to detail
Confidence in producing reports and interpreting MI
Strong organisation and travel planning skills
A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel with occasional overnight stays
Must be able to meet pre-employment screening requirements (right to work, ID, referencing, credit and DBS checks, AML and sanctions)
