Job Description

RAC has an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Business Partner to join our Governance, Risk and Compliance function. This is a pivotal role within our second line of defence, working very closely with our first line product, marketing and operational teams providing expert advice and challenge to ensure RAC delivers good customer outcomes and meets its regulatory obligations.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide business partnering that champions good customer outcomes and ensures compliance with regulatory obligations
  • Offer practical, pragmatic advice on regulatory compliance, conduct matters, and customer outcomes across products, processes, and policies
  • Participate in governance committees, product and pricing forums, and change projects
  • Provide second-line sign-off for financial promotions
  • Maintain oversight of product governance (manufacture and distribution)
  • Act as a point of contact and escalation for BAU compliance matters, including incident management and breaches
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders while delivering independent challenges

Requirements

  • Proven experience in governance and/or compliance roles
  • Strong knowledge of UK financial services regulation, in particular Insurance, including FCA Handbook, Financial Promotion regime, PRA Rulebook, and Solvency II
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate ‘win-win’ outcomes while remaining impartial
  • Commercial awareness
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Degree-level education (law, compliance, business administration) or equivalent compliance qualifications/experience

Nice to have

  • Experience in a regulated or financial services environment – could be in product or marketing – could be ASA / CMA experience as well
  • Familiarity with product governance and financial promotions
  • Strategic thinking and ability to influence change
