Job Description

We’re the team behind the UK’s telecom networks—building, upgrading, and keeping the country connected! From fibre installs to 5G rollouts, we make it happen with innovation, speed, and a smile. If you love a challenge and want to be part of something big, Comex 2000 is the place to be. We’re looking for a confident and experienced Compliance Assessor to raise standards, reduce risk, and drive quality across our Civils, Cable and Fibre delivery teams. If you’ve got strong operational experience, a sharp eye for detail, and the credibility to challenge and coach teams on site, this role puts you right at the heart of delivery excellence. You’ll audit sites, assess reinstatement quality, support Supervisors, and ensure subcontractors meet the mark — all while helping us improve processes, prevent defects, and strengthen compliance across the business.

Job Responsibility

  • Carry out site audits to check compliance with policies, standards and legislation
  • Review operational audits and support teams in closing gaps and reducing risk
  • Ensure subcontractors meet all compliance, induction and certification requirements
  • Act as the senior compliance authority on site, stepping in when standards slip
  • Conduct coring and Clegg assessments to validate reinstatement quality
  • Analyse quality data to spot trends, recurring issues and root causes
  • Provide technical support during JSI meetings, defect reviews and live works
  • Coach and mentor Supervisors across Civils, Cable and Fibre disciplines
  • Deliver training, toolbox talks and briefings to raise compliance capability
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows and compliance culture
  • Build strong relationships with clients, Local Authorities and internal teams

Requirements

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong influencing and coaching skills with the confidence to challenge constructively
  • Clear communication skills — written, verbal and in presentations
  • Ability to make sound decisions in fast‑paced, high‑risk environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and a solutions‑focused mindset
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power BI and digital reporting tools
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret audit, coring and Clegg data
  • Hands‑on experience in Civils, Cable or Fibre delivery (supervisory or senior technical level)
  • Expert knowledge of SROH and the Red Book
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment, hazard identification and H&S in telecoms/civils
  • Proven experience leading audits and driving operational improvement
  • Experience coaching Supervisors and managing subcontractor compliance
  • Familiarity with multi‑supplier environments and compliance monitoring
  • NRSWA qualification
  • SSSTS or equivalent
  • CPCS or equivalent
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Auditor/compliance certification (desirable)
