Job Description:

The ACTU is seeking a Compliance and Grants Support Officer to play a key coordination role in overseeing compliance, governance and reporting obligations across the organisation and associated entities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining registers, tracking reporting cycles, and working collaboratively to ensure obligations are met in complex, regulated environments.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinate and oversee compliance obligations for grant‑funded, regulated and partnership activities, including reporting, governance and record‑keeping requirements
  • Maintain and manage compliance registers, reporting schedules and key timeframes, monitoring obligations and escalating risks or issues as required
  • Review and coordinate the preparation of routine compliance and grants reports, drawing on information collated from agreed sources
  • Provide compliance guidance to staff involved in grant‑funded and regulated activities within the scope of the role
  • Coordinate RTO compliance and governance obligations, including oversight of records, registers, MOUs, reporting requirements and audit readiness
  • Coordinate and oversee compliance and governance requirements for Centre for Workers’ Capital partnership activities, including annual fund reporting and acquittals
  • Coordinate compliance‑related financial and governance reporting in collaboration with the ACTU Finance team, including oversight of auditable records
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather information for reports, audits and reviews, and respond to compliance‑related enquiries
  • Provide general administrative and operational support consistent with the role and classification

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or overseeing compliance, governance or reporting obligations
  • Strong attention to detail and records management skills
  • Ability to identify, monitor and escalate compliance risks or issues
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work to deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Competence using Microsoft 365 and record‑keeping systems
  • Demonstrated reliability, discretion and accuracy
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with colleagues
  • Commitment to ACTU values and policies
