Job Description:

A welcoming specialist SEND school in Southampton is seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team supporting pupils with Autism, learning difficulties and additional physical needs. This is a highly supportive environment where staff work collaboratively to ensure every pupil can access learning in a way that suits them. The role involves supporting pupils with communication, sensory needs and structured routines, helping them develop independence and confidence.

Job Responsibility:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
Working closely with teachers and therapists
Supporting communication strategies and structured learning
Assisting with sensory activities and engagement
Encouraging independence and social interaction

Requirements:

DBS on the Update Service
Up-to-date safeguarding training

Nice to have:

Experience in SEND schools
Experience in Autism support
Experience in Care or support work
Experience in Youth work or mentoring
