Are you passionate about supporting women facing multiple disadvantages? The Nelson Trust is seeking a dedicated Complex Needs Keyworker to join our Women’s Community Services team in Gloucester. You’ll provide practical and emotional support to women experiencing challenges such as homelessness, substance use, mental and physical illness, poverty, and violence or abuse. Your work will help raise self-esteem, build recovery capital, and empower women to make positive changes.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver one-to-one and group interventions tailored to individual needs
Collaborate with voluntary, statutory, and criminal justice agencies
Conduct comprehensive assessments, including health, psychological, and social needs
Develop and review gender-responsive support plans
Case manage and keywork assigned women
Advocate for women in multi-agency meetings and court settings
Provide outreach services and work from satellite bases as needed
Uphold safeguarding principles and confidentiality protocols
Contribute to the development and delivery of services at the Women’s Centre
Requirements:
Experience working with women with complex needs
Ability to develop and deliver group programmes in emotional health, wellbeing, and relationships
Car driver with access to a vehicle
Awareness of trauma-informed and gender-specific approaches
Knowledge of local services and women’s entitlements
Aptitude for prioritising tasks, managing time, and working on own initiative
Good computer literacy and administrative skills
Commitment to The Nelson Trust ethos and safeguarding policies
Experience with child and adult safeguarding
Understanding of domestic abuse cases and working with mothers/families
Non-judgemental, respectful, and empathic approach
Understanding of mental and physical health issues
Ability to work under pressure and manage distress
Strong team working and interpersonal skills
