Job Description:

We are urgently seeking an experienced Complex Care Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for a client with autism, severe learning disabilities, ADHD, an eating disorder, and challenging behaviour. This role requires a compassionate, patient, and proactive individual who can create a calm and structured environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing personalised support tailored to the client's needs and preferences
  • Encouraging and assisting the client in engaging with his hobbies, including walking, arts and crafts, gardening, and various community-based activities
  • Supporting the client in building confidence and independence in a structured and reassuring manner
  • Using de-escalation techniques and a breakaway-trained approach to manage challenging behaviours (restraint is not permitted)
  • Helping to establish routines that promote emotional well-being and stability
  • Communicating effectively with the wider support team and family members

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including autism, ADHD, severe learning disabilities, and challenging behaviours
  • Breakaway training (not restraint-based) is essential
  • A valid driving licence
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure and manage situations with a de-escalation mindset
  • A stable and balanced personal life, as the client is highly perceptive to stress in others
