We invite you to contribute in shaping the future of digital banking in the Complaint Management & Prevention Department - a business unit that connects our Customers, Authorities and internal stakeholders on the exciting journey of shaping compliant and seamless services that our Users love. The role is based in Madrid. You will have the opportunity to make an impact at N26 by working with stakeholders across multiple functions in the ever-changing world of finance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Take care (record, analyse, process, respond) of formal complaints filed from customers, lawyers or via authorities, mainly in Italian language
  • Help to identify complaints root-causes and define possible solutions
  • Assist and participate in mitigation projects to prevent further complaints
  • Take over own initiatives to improve operational procedures with a focus on compliance
  • Face a great variety of different topics and a not monotonous work
  • Witness a very good team spirit and cooperation with various stakeholders of all departments
  • Develop more bank-specific expertise esp. about compliance-related topics
  • Work on all tasks in your area with a substantial degree of autonomy, and be a Point-of-Contact if any issues arise
  • Detect inefficiencies in the team’s workflows proactively and propose efficient solutions

Requirements:

  • Fluent Italian

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree (e.g. law studies) is desirable
  • Relevant work experience in legal, compliance, banking sector and financial service industry is desirable
  • Analytical thinker with strong investigation skills
  • Able to carry out accurate legal research independently
  • Experience with using CRM system (ideally Salesforce)
  • Use time effectively, can prioritise appropriately and are able to work under strict deadlines

  • Co-manage the team of the highly motivated team of associates and analysts, who deliver end‑to‑end handling of customer or authority‑escalated complaints for the German and other relevant markets
  • Support the other markets teams’ management, ensuring fair, timely and compliant resolutions
  • Collaborate with the market manager, acting as a primary point of contact for German‑speaking authorities and external dispute resolution bodies, preparing and submitting high‑quality responses and evidence
  • Support the market management in coordination and preparation audit‑ready documentation for complaints processes in your scope, partnering closely with internal audit, Compliance, Legal and Risk teams
  • Lead and drive cross‑functional initiatives to tackle root causes of complaints, improve processes, and reduce operational and regulatory risk across markets
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise on German consumer, banking and payments regulations in the context of complaint handling, and support impact assessments for new products and features
  • Mentor complaints analysts in Madrid, fostering a culture of quality, ownership and continuous improvement in German‑language complaints handling
  • Monitor KPIs and SLAs for your markets, proactively identifying risks, inefficiencies and trends, and translating them into actionable improvements, particularly in terms of capacity-related risks and planning
