As the Competition Area & Pitch Manager within the Football Operations (FOPS) team, you will deliver and monitor all services for the 24 Participating National Associations of UEFA EURO 2028. This will include responsibility of assessing all team facilities & match venues equipment and procure the relevant material. In addition, with the support of the appointed pitch consulting company, you will look after the assessment, monitoring and follow-up of all pitches (both stadiums and training centres) to ensure top-quality pitches across the UK & Ireland.
Job Responsibility:
Participate and support FOPS staff at all stadium working visits including completing detailed site visit reports
Establish thorough inventory list of the existing facilities and sports equipment for each of the 9 match venues and all pre-selected training centres
Procure and contract the sports equipment company to equip all team facilities and competition areas for each of the 9 match venues via an RFP process
Request all match preparation sports equipment and material in relevant UEFA platforms and ensure timely shipment of all required items at the 9 match venues and training centres
Support the recruitment and training of all competition & pitch area coordinators
Reconciliation and payment of all invoices post-tournament as per the UK & Ireland 2028 Limited policies
To lead the event organisers interests in respect to pitches related to UEFA EURO 2028, both in the match venues and all training facilities
Support in the pitch monitoring process at all EURO 2028 venues, organising regular meetings & reports
Create strong relationships with all relevant EURO 2028 venue groundskeeping teams
Assist in the organisation of workshops to facilitate the onboarding of groundskeepers to the pitch support programme
Requirements:
An experienced project manager
A detailed working knowledge of professional sports environments and their requirements
Extensive knowledge of elite football/sports facilities within the UK & Ireland
Ability to build strong internal and external relationships with senior figures
Experienced in major event planning and delivery
Experience with procurement of sports equipment
Proven communication skills and ability to deliver high quality written reports & presentations
Willing to travel on a regular basis across UK & Ireland and in possession of a full driving licence
Experience working within a professional football environment
