Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Compensation & Benefits Specialist to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This Contract to permanent position will focus on managing employee benefits programs and supporting retirement-related initiatives for a university setting. The role offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with HR leadership to enhance benefits administration and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and related offerings
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for retirement plan administration, including 403(b) and 401(a) programs
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues, enhance processes, and ensure effective communication
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations related to benefits and retirement programs
  • Provide support for compensation tasks such as salary adjustments, job documentation, and market research
  • Assist employees with retirement inquiries, plan changes, and educational resources
  • Partner with HR leadership on benefits-related initiatives, including open enrollment planning and communication
  • Contribute to strategic improvements and process enhancements within the HR department
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting for benefits enrollments and changes

Requirements

  • Proven experience in benefits administration and retirement program management
  • Strong understanding of federal and state regulations related to employee benefits

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
  • Excellent communication and vendor management abilities
  • Familiarity with compensation practices, including salary adjustments and market alignment
