We are looking for an experienced Compensation & Benefits Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in West Jordan, Utah. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing employee benefits and leave administration, ensuring compliance with regulations and delivering a positive experience for employees. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to collaborate with HR, Payroll, and external vendors while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in every aspect of benefits operations.
Job Responsibility:
Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans
Address employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, enrollment, and coverage adjustments
Process benefit enrollments and changes triggered by qualifying life events
Collaborate with vendors and carriers to resolve issues and ensure proper plan administration
Oversee employee leave processes, including federal, state-specific, and company leave programs
Work with third-party administrators to track leave usage and maintain compliance
Communicate with employees and managers about leave statuses, timelines, and return-to-work requirements
Manage workers' compensation claims from initial reporting through resolution, ensuring all documentation is accurate and timely
Maintain clear and organized records for benefits, leave, and workers' compensation processes
Support audits, compliance reviews, and reporting requirements as needed
Requirements:
2–4 years of experience in HR benefits and/or leave administration
Proficiency in benefits plans and leave laws, including FMLA and state-specific programs
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information effectively
Experience working with HR systems and benefits/leave vendors
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have:
Preferred experience in managing multi-state employee populations
Familiarity with third-party leave or benefits administration platforms
