We are looking for a Compensation & Benefits Specialist to support and strengthen employee rewards programs in Greenville, Michigan. This role focuses on benefits administration, regulatory compliance, and vendor collaboration to help deliver a competitive and well-managed total rewards offering. The ideal candidate brings practical experience with leave programs, retirement plans, and employee benefit analysis, along with the ability to communicate programs clearly and support employee well-being.
Job Responsibility
Oversee day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs and ensure plans are managed accurately and efficiently
Interpret and apply federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits, leave administration, and retirement offerings to support ongoing compliance
Work closely with external brokers, carriers, and vendors to review plan performance, compare market offerings, and support benefit strategy decisions
Coordinate annual open enrollment activities, including planning timelines, employee communications, and issue resolution during the enrollment period
Analyze benefit offerings and costs to help balance workforce needs with organizational financial objectives
Develop and support wellness initiatives and benefit education efforts that encourage participation, understanding, and employee engagement
Respond to employee questions regarding benefit programs, eligibility, leave policies, and coverage options with clear and timely guidance
Maintain benefits records, reporting, and documentation to support audits, compliance reviews, and internal decision-making
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards administration
Strong knowledge of employee benefit functions, benefits coordination, and benefits analysis
Experience supporting compliance related to leave programs such as FMLA and other applicable regulations
Familiarity with retirement plans, employee relations, and labor-related considerations connected to benefits administration
Ability to work effectively with brokers, vendors, and insurance carriers in a business environment that requires strong attention to detail
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain benefit programs and policies clearly to employees and stakeholders
Proven attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with accuracy and discretion
