Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Company Secretarial & Governance Paralegal to join the legal and governance function of a large multinational financial services organisation on an initial 6 month assignment, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will support a broad range of board, committee and corporate governance activities within a highly regarded international business. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with previous company secretarial, corporate governance, legal entity management or governance support experience to gain exposure within a regulated global organisation. The role is based in London and offers hybrid working, with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting board and committee meeting processes
  • Preparing agendas, governance calendars, action trackers and meeting documentation
  • Coordinating board papers and governance materials
  • Assisting with minute taking and follow up actions
  • Maintaining governance records and document repositories
  • Supporting legal entity governance and compliance activities
  • Assisting with governance reporting and management information
  • Supporting governance enhancement and process improvement initiatives
  • Assisting with the preparation of resolutions and other governance documentation
  • Liaising with stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance and wider business functions

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' experience gained within one or more of the following environments: Company Secretarial
  • Corporate Governance
  • Legal Entity Management
  • In-house Legal
  • Corporate Legal Support
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Nice to have

  • Experience within a regulated financial services environment
  • Familiarity with UK corporate governance requirements and company law
  • Experience using governance management or board portal systems
  • A law degree, governance qualification, SQE1 or equivalent professional experience
