We are currently recruiting for a Company Secretarial & Governance Paralegal to join the legal and governance function of a large multinational financial services organisation on an initial 6 month assignment, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will support a broad range of board, committee and corporate governance activities within a highly regarded international business. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with previous company secretarial, corporate governance, legal entity management or governance support experience to gain exposure within a regulated global organisation. The role is based in London and offers hybrid working, with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office.
Job Responsibility
Supporting board and committee meeting processes
Preparing agendas, governance calendars, action trackers and meeting documentation
Coordinating board papers and governance materials
Assisting with minute taking and follow up actions
Maintaining governance records and document repositories
Supporting legal entity governance and compliance activities
Assisting with governance reporting and management information
Supporting governance enhancement and process improvement initiatives
Assisting with the preparation of resolutions and other governance documentation
Liaising with stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance and wider business functions
Requirements
At least 2 years' experience gained within one or more of the following environments: Company Secretarial
Corporate Governance
Legal Entity Management
In-house Legal
Corporate Legal Support
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
Strong stakeholder management skills
The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Nice to have
Experience within a regulated financial services environment
Familiarity with UK corporate governance requirements and company law
Experience using governance management or board portal systems
A law degree, governance qualification, SQE1 or equivalent professional experience
