Job Description

Make a Difference Where It Matters Most We are looking for a passionate, proactive, and dynamic Community Wellbeing Worker to support unpaid carers in our community. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to improving outcomes for carers by working in a preventative, strengths-based way, helping individuals stay well, connected, and resilient before crisis points are reached. About the Role As a Community Wellbeing Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting carers to maintain their health and wellbeing. You will take a proactive and innovative approach, identifying early signs of need and providing tailored support that empowers carers to thrive. This role focuses on prevention and early intervention, working alongside carers to reduce isolation, improve resilience, and enhance quality of life, rather than waiting for challenges to escalate.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide person-centred support to carers, recognising their individual strengths, needs, and goals
  • Take a preventative approach, identifying early risks and putting support in place before issues escalate
  • Work dynamically and flexibly across community settings, meeting carers where they are
  • Connect carers with local services, peer support, and community resources
  • Deliver wellbeing interventions such as social groups, one-to-one support, and practical guidance
  • Promote self-care, resilience, and independence among carers
  • Collaborate closely with health, social care, and voluntary sector partners
  • Support carers to develop sustainable coping strategies and long-term wellbeing plans

Requirements

  • Empathetic, motivated, and solution-focused
  • Skilled in building relationships and engaging diverse communities
  • Confident working in a preventative, early-intervention model
  • Able to think creatively and respond to changing needs in a dynamic environment
  • Experienced (or interested) in supporting carers, communities, or vulnerable groups
  • A strong communicator with excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential
  • DBS clearance is required

Nice to have

A background in health, social care, community development, or a related field is desirable

What we offer

  • A rewarding opportunity to have a real impact on carers’ lives
  • A supportive and inclusive team environment
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Flexible working options (where applicable)
  • Access to wellbeing support and staff benefits
