The Lewisham Community Support Team is seeking a compassionate and experienced Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to an individual with specific challenges, including being non-verbal, having learning disabilities, and lacking traffic awareness. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring their safety, fostering independence, and enabling them to engage in a variety of activities, including attending college, swimming, disco outings, travel training, and bike riding. This is a lone-working role and requires a highly responsible and proactive individual to provide effective support. Flexibility is crucial, as there is no fixed schedule; we adapt to the needs and preferences of the person we support. Requirements:
Compassionate and empathetic approach
Proactive and able to work independently in a lone-working setting
Flexible working attitude, adaptable to changing schedules and needs
Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours
Confident in monitoring and ensuring safety in public settings
MUST be a driver with a UK driving license
