Job Description

Under the direction of the Manager or designate, the Community Speech Pathologist follows Policy & Procedures to deliver the speech program for the preschool population.

Job Responsibility

  • Implementation of a program of speech pathology service, including targeted treatment where required
  • Provision of consultation and educational services to professionals, agencies and the general public.

Requirements

  • Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Speech Language Practitioner
  • Graduation from University of recognized standing with Masters Degree in field of Speech-Language Pathology
  • Ability to operate and interpret results from specialized diagnostic equipment
  • a high degree of tact in securing the co-operation and confidence of patients
  • sound judgment in diagnosing and prescribing therapeutic treatment
  • well demonstrated ability to accept and competently discharge responsibilities and to plan, organize and execute work with a minimum of supervision
  • well developed abilities with respect to report writing
  • and meeting and working with other professional staff, agencies and the general public.
