Job Description

A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Community Relations Manager to play a critical role in advancing its strategic initiatives, strengthening external partnerships, and driving advocacy efforts. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working closely with executive leadership, policymakers, and community stakeholders. This individual will serve as a key liaison between the organization and government entities, while also helping identify funding opportunities, influence policy, and expand the organization's presence within the healthcare and nonprofit landscape.

Job Responsibility

  • Act as the primary point of contact with elected officials, government agencies, and policymakers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships at the local, state, and federal levels
  • Monitor legislation, regulatory changes, and policy developments that may impact operations or funding
  • Partner with external advocacy groups and lobbyists to support strategic initiatives
  • Advise leadership on advocacy efforts and government-related opportunities
  • Identify and pursue public funding opportunities, including grants and appropriations
  • Provide insight into reimbursement trends and healthcare-related funding mechanisms
  • Support leadership in developing strategies to diversify and strengthen long-term funding sources
  • Research and present innovative ideas to support organizational sustainability and growth
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with healthcare providers, referral sources, nonprofits, and community leaders
  • Represent the organization at events, conferences, and public forums
  • Drive initiatives that increase visibility, awareness, and community impact
  • Foster relationships that support long-term growth and service expansion
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on policy, community, and industry trends
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning related to growth, partnerships, and advocacy
  • Support board-level discussions and initiatives as needed
  • Recommend strategies to enhance organizational influence and positioning

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • advanced degree in Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, nonprofit leadership, healthcare administration, or related field
  • Strong network of relationships with policymakers, community leaders, and industry stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of legislative processes, nonprofit funding structures, and healthcare reimbursement models
  • Experience working alongside government agencies, advocacy organizations, or lobbying groups
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to develop partnerships that drive measurable outcomes
