Job Description:

The Airbnb Community team is looking for an experienced Community Engagement Lead to work in region to deliver upon our Community Growth, Engagement and business goals. In this role, you will work closely with and report to the Global Senior Community Engagement Lead and build collaborative relationships with the relevant Country Managers, Regional directors, Policy, Legal, and Comms Managers to support the Community leadership team. You are the Community custodian in each region responsible for balancing the needs of our Hosting Community with those of Airbnb.

Job Responsibility:

  • Regional Leadership & Engagement: Partner closely with Country Managers, Regional Directors, Policy & Comms Managers to understand priorities, trends, risks and opportunities within the region. Influence and motivate a team of Community Managers to unlock the power of Community driven programs
  • Regional Expertise & Innovation: Create a culture of innovation and experimentation to develop pilots to unlock value across Host Growth, Engagement and Impact which includes policy and business outcomes
  • Lead key meetings, forums, OKR management
  • ensure Community is incorporated into key initiatives in the region through development, tracking, reporting of community metrics
  • Develop, refine, and report on regional community KPIs
  • Identify and escalate reporting issues, gaps in processes, performance issues, and drive timely resolution
  • Lead and maintain Regional Community Operating System and Regional Community strategy between Regional Leadership (Global Markets, Policy, Supply, Marketing) and Central Community
  • Lead, develop, and support team of Community Engagement Managers in region
  • Own and drive community health and impact in the region
  • Deep understanding and representation of regional and host needs and nuances in global programs across Community
  • Drive innovation and pilots to serve Community OKRs in region across Community Health and impact
  • Develop, adapt, and execute levers and playbooks for regional execution to drive geo and company priorities
  • Partner with regional leadership teams to Identify local trends, risks, opportunities and develop Community Led plans to address or unlock value
  • Develop and own the regional execution of community playbooks across your region

Requirements:

  • Strong leader with 12+ years of related work experience, particularly in Community Building, Consulting, Strategy, Innovation, General Management, or Operations
  • Strong relationship and collaboration skills with a proven preference to motivate through influence and connection
  • Creative problem solver. Able to identify real obstacles and viable solutions
  • Ability to lead teams directly & indirectly including via matrix and dotted line environments
  • Experience leading innovation from ideation to implementation and scale
  • Track record of leading large scale, high impact, cross-functional efforts and drive projects from ideation to strategy and implementation at the Executive level
  • Prior experience process management - Experience with designing, implementing, and improving effective and efficient work processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams and deliverables in a matrixed organization structure
  • Deep connection to Airbnb’s mission and passion for creating Connection and Belonging
  • Strong analytical, data, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outcome-oriented. Not reactionary, articulates the desired outcome and works collaboratively to create a path to achieve
