As the Community Program Manager, you will bridge the gap between Yolŋu and Western worldviews by overseeing the Remote Australia Employment Service (RAES) and driving social enterprise projects that improve the economic wellbeing of First Nations peoples. Job Responsibility:
Oversee the operations of the RAES program and manage on-ground teams across multiple remote locations
Provide strategic support to the community development leadership team to ensure effective program delivery
Manage the performance of social enterprise projects to achieve financial and social impact goals
Establish clear performance metrics and regularly review progress to ensure operational excellence
Develop detailed budget plans, implement cost control measures, and manage financial performance
Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, NGOs, and local community stakeholders
Lead and inspire remote staff, fostering a positive workplace culture and encouraging professional development
Analyse performance data to identify trends, opportunities for innovation, and areas for program improvement
Requirements:
Significant experience in community services delivery, specifically with Remote Australia Employment Services (RAES) or Community Development Programs (CDP)
Proven track record in managing diverse stakeholder relationships and securing funding through grants
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data-driven insights to evaluate program effectiveness
Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style for people of all education levels and ethnic origins
Experience in managing budgets and implementing agile project delivery
Advanced competence in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant internal business systems
A collaborative mindset and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively within a team
Ability to travel to remote communities via 4WD or small light aircraft (subject to a 140kg weight limit for aviation safety)
Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and clearances required for working in remote Indigenous communities
