An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Community Practitioner within the North Cumbria Adult Eating Disorder Service (NCAEDS). We are keen to meet applicants with experience or an interest in supporting service users with eating disorders and can contribute to the evolving needs of the service, and the teams aspirations for future development. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to develop or expand their current knowledge and skills working within the MDT of a specialist eating disorder service. It is essential that the applicant holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle.
Job Responsibility:
Working in the community providing specialist assessment, evidenced based treatment and managing complex psychological and physical health risk through psychoeducation, monitoring and robust care and risk management planning
Provide care co-ordination and treatment for service users with a primary diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder
Contribute regularly to the duty system managing queries and referrals to the team
Provide scaffolding advice and training to other professionals outside of NCAEDS who are also supporting people with eating difficulties
Requirements:
Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker
Mentor Training
Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/ psychological interventions / skills relevant to the post
Proven track record of post registration clinical experience relevant to the post
Training in CPA (Care Programme Approach), Safeguarding, MAPPA (Multi Agency Panel for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults) and Child Protection
Up-to-date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation
12 to 24 month band 5 qualified nurse experience dependent upon service need
Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, NMC standards and other local and national initiatives
Proven ability to carry out and provide comprehensive written assessments of individuals with complex mental health needs
Risk Assessment and Risk Management / Safety Planning skills
Demonstrate an understanding of effective & appropriate treatment options including a range of evidence based clinical approaches as identified in N.I.C.E. Guidance
Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
Evidence of a high level of professional, organisational and leadership skills (self & others)
Ability to adapt within a changing environment
Ability to work under pressure
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Current UK professional registration
Nice to have:
Post Registration Qualifications in Psychological Interventions
Experience of working within a community team
Non-Medical Prescribing
Understanding of difficult to manage/challenging behaviours
