Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic Community Nurse to work within the North Cumbria Adult Eating Disorder Service (NCAEDS). The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic Multi-Disciplinary Team at an exciting time of positive change.

Job Responsibility:

  • Clinically effective assessment, care management skills and interventions in accordance with the Care Programme Approach and Care Act framework
  • Engagement with clients in the development of person centred, eating disorder recovery focused care plans
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Delivery of a high-quality, innovative, recovery focused and person centred care
  • Responsible for own caseload, providing ongoing assessment, care co-ordination as a Key Worker and delivering evidence based intervention in the community

Requirements:

  • First Level Registration RMN/RNMH/RNLD Qualification
  • Complete preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses
  • Continued professional development
  • Experience of working with service users and carers in successful delivery of treatment plans
  • Multi-disciplinary team work
  • 1 year post registration community experience
  • Mental Health Legislation knowledge
  • Knowledge of relevant contemporary professional theories of mental health care and evidence based interventions
  • Understanding of the statutory issues which impact on service users
  • Time Management skills and ability to prioritise work load
  • Comprehensive continuous assessment of skills
  • Risk Assessment skills
  • Risk Management and Safety Planning skills
  • Adaptability, flexibility, good communication skills and a commitment to multi-agency team work
  • Must be able to meet the mobility requirements of the post
  • Applicants must have current UK professional registration

Nice to have:

  • Experience of working with Eating Disorders
  • Phlebotomy and Physical Health Skills
