Job Description:

You will lead on the design and delivery of a borough-wide programme of resident engagement, ensuring community insight directly informs policy, strategy, and service transformation. This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role where you’ll work across teams and with external partners to strengthen how engagement is planned, delivered, and embedded into decision-making.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and deliver a programme of resident engagement activity across the borough
  • Oversee consultations and engagement work across Strategy & Communities
  • Commission and manage external research and engagement providers
  • Ensure resident insight is effectively captured, analysed, and applied to policy and service design
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including VCS organisations
  • Support transformation activity by embedding meaningful community insight

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in community engagement, consultation, or insight roles within the public sector
  • Strong understanding of participatory approaches (e.g. citizens’ assemblies)
  • Experience delivering large-scale engagement programmes
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work at pace in a complex and evolving environment
