Job Description:

The Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation is seeking a qualified and experienced Community Health Nurse Supervisor to lead our community health nursing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of comprehensive, culturally safe health services to community members, with a focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise and support the community health nursing team
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate community health programs and services
  • Provide direct nursing care, health assessments, and health education
  • Collaborate with community partners and health agencies
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards and regulations
  • Manage clinical supplies and resources
  • Participate in health planning and policy development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Experience in community health, public health, or primary care nursing
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Current CPR certification
  • Knowledge of First Nations health issues, culture, and traditions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office
