Job Description

In partnership with the Ryde Neighbourhood Board the Isle of Wight Council has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Community Engagement Officer to oversee delivery of the Board's Community Engagement Plan. This 3-year fixed term position is well suited to an individual who has gained significant direct experience managing and delivering community engagement activity with a range of partners, stakeholders, local groups and individuals. The Community Engagement Officer will be part of a new, small team dedicated to the bedding-in and delivery of Ryde Neighbourhood Board's 10-year Vision the town. They will work directly to the Board with supervision from the Isle of Wight Council's Regeneration team which, supports the work of the Community Services Directorate.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee delivery of the Board's Community Engagement Plan
  • Work closely with the Chair and Members of the Communication and Public Engagement Committee
  • Ensure smooth delivery of its Community Engagement Strategy in accordance with Government Pride in Place programme guidelines
